(Pirate) Necrons Incoming!

With the upcoming release of the new Necron codex, I have decided to revamp my efforts in completing my pirate Necrons. I've been brainstorming some new ideas based upon the new kits and their supposed rules which correspond to them.

More after the break!

Ghost Ark: Fairly simple change. I would make it look similar to a man-rowed galleon with cannon broadsides. The necron on top would probably be posed as if beating a drum so the 'rowers' could well, row, in rhythm.

Doomsday Ark: More or less the same as above, minus the rowing necrons. The guass weapons on either side would probably be buffed up to look like larger cannons in order to create a more powerful look.

Necron infantry: All of the necron infantry would be fairly simple, assuming they are all scaled the same. I would simply sculpt 5 pairs of legs and 5 torsos in a pirate theme and then cast them to reproduce them in mass.

Lychguard with Warscythes: Pirates with tridents. Simple enough.

Lychguard with sword and shield: Also fairly simple. Pirates with cutlass and buckler.

Triach Praetorians with Rods: Big hand cannons and more bling to the pirate attire. I'm thinking epaulets and big feathered hats. Obviously the big hats would not be as large as the Lord's!

Triach Praetorians with Gun and Sword: Flintlock pistol and cutlass. If the strength or AP of the weapon is higher, I'll maybe model the flintlocks as a pepperbox or blunderbuss. For those of you who don't know, a pepperbox, in firearm terms at least, is essentially a pistol which has multiple(usually over six) barrels. The barrels fire simultaneously and 'peppered' the target with rounds.

Flayed Ones: Pirates with a lot of barnacles and other sea-life crawling on them. The flayed skin could work I suppose if I simply added pirate attire to the models, but I would like to keep away from the potential zombie look.

Destroyer/Heavy Destroyer: A row boat manned by two necrons. One rowing the vehicle and the other holding a cannon. Heavy Destroyers would just have a larger cannon.

All of these are subject to change as we get more information on Necron weaponry and stats. I'd like this army to clearly represent the units in the Codex: Necrons and not be confusing. What you see is what you get is my primary concern.

Here there be words:
Ubiquitous [u·biq·ui·tous] adj.  Being or seeming to be everywhere, or in all places, at the same time; omnipresent.
Voluminous [vo·lu·mi·nous] adj.  Having great volume, fullness, size, or number; ample or lengthy in speech or writing: voluminous paperwork.
