Citadel Finecast

Found some info while searching the webs for ya'll:

"There's a new kind of packing for the finecast miniatures. I don't remember the name, though. Basically it's a reversed blister - the card is in the front, and the miniature on the back. You have a picture of the painted miniature, and can see the actual miniature through the transparent back. Therefor you'll have only pictures of painted miniatures on the shelves, no more blister searching." - Bramgaunt

Citadel Finecast

So GW has finally announced their transfer to resin under the somewhat gimmicky 'finecast' title. While I'm glad that they are switching over to a new hard resin for their metal models, as it allows for easier converting, I'm not too fond of the somewhat drastic and unnecessary price hike.

The switch to resin, I'm assuming, is a result of the global market's outrageous prices for white metal. I'd think that, due to the inexpensiveness of resin, GW would reduce the prices as anyone who is familiar with the material knows that it is rather inexpensive in bulk. A Warhound titan probably  costs forgeworld roughly 20-30 dollars in materials. I guess Citadel Finecast and FW models are so expensive due to the artist fees and the 'niche' market GW keeps talking about.
